In technology whatever can be done is done, this is exactly what China thought of when they decided to invade the world with Face ++ technology 2017 trend, so what is Face ++ technology and will it really make live easier or it will hack privacy and security?
Computers are becoming impressive with their technologies as recognizing faces, and the technology is quickly moving in China in the interest of both surveillance and convenience. Face ++ is the 2017 trend technology that will allow you to login to anything just by your face recognition. Face recognition might mutate everything from policing to the way people interact every day with banks, stores and transportation services.
Face ++ isn’t that new it has already been used in some apps, as it’s possible to transfer money through Alipay, a mobile payment app used by more than 120 million people in China, using only your face as credentials. Moreover, Didi, China’s dominant ride-hailing company, uses the Face++ software to let passengers confirm that the person behind the wheel is a legitimate driver.
The question now is why China specifically is taking the first step in this 2017 trend technology? The answer is because of the country’s attitudes toward surveillance and privacy. Surprisingly Face ++ isn’t only used by apps, but also local governments are using its software to identify suspected criminals. It’s really Impressive!
Although has been there for decades, but now it’s accurate and secure enough to be used in financial transactions. The new versions use deep learning, an artificial-intelligence technique that is especially effective for image recognition because it makes a computer zero in the facial features that will most reliably identify a person.
“The face recognition market is huge” says Shiliang Zhang, an assistant professor at Peking University who specializes in machine learning and image processing.
Baidu company decided to compete on this technology and it published papers showing that their software rivals most humans in its ability to recognize a face. In January, they were able to prove what they said by taking part in a TV show featuring people who are remarkably good at identifying adults from their baby photos. Guess What? Baidu’s system outshined them.
What about taking your rail tickets just by showing your face? Baidu is currently doing this and they are working with the government of Wuzhen, a historic tourist destination, to provide access to many of its attractions without a ticket. This involves scanning tens of thousands of faces in a database to find a match, which Baidu says it can do with 99 percent accuracy.
Technology will always impress us and people will apply it in a lot of things looking forward towards an easier life as some apartment complexes use facial recognition to provide access, shops and restaurants are looking to the technology to make the customer experience smoother. Jie Tang, an associate professor at Tsinghua says that not only customers can pay for things this way, but the staff in some coffee shops are now alerted by a facial recognition system when they walk in: The system says ‘Hello, Mr. Tang.’”
As this technology is the trend nowadays, Leogami thinks that Face Recognition is the new technology that’s invading the world and people will start applying it in every single thing in their life, they can get rid of their IDs and just depend on being recognized by Face, technology nowadays is really inverting the world to an impressive direction.
